Lighting tools for school areas
School and educational facilities consist of many individual functional areas, both indoors and outdoors. This represents an enormous potential for saving carbon dioxide and also energy, which means saving costs as well. The Ministry for Construction in Germany estimates that urgent action is needed with around 40,000 schools, 48,000 kindergartens and well over 10,000 sports halls; around half of these approximately 150,000 buildings are in need of energy-saving renovation.
In fact energy-based renovation is the main challenge, saving energy efficiently and at the same time ensuring a high quality of light, or even improving upon light quality. Because lighting is only good when it supports the functionality of a room.
For schools, that means in simple terms: when light makes learning easier!
