Corridor and stairwell applicationsCorridors and stairwells may be attuned to levels of daylight, but may also be completely self-sufficient within the inner of the building. In the former case, efficient lighting solutions should leverage the potential of daylight, supplementing with artificial light when necessary, e.g. with low brightness levels. The latter case should on the other hand consider that during operating hours, artificial light must be available at all times. In this regard, the aspects of maintenance and energy consumption are of central importance. In both situations, a lighting management system substantially determines the saving of operating costs by controlling lighting levels according to time of day and level of use.
