Comfort Light For Transitory Offices

Flexibility and glare-free light via Siteco ELDACON technology for Campeon, the corporate centre functioning as the nerve hub for information and knowledge at Infineon.

Design and arrangement of Campeon reflect the needs of Infineon as an IT company with partially virtual character. Flexible interior design and communication are central requirements of the architecture. And also of the lighting: the complete Siteco solution is based on a principle of freedom and high levels of light quality.

The term Campeon comes from the words Campus and Infineon, and represents a concept for working in the world of tomorrow – an open, functional ambience with campus character that allows a rapid exchange of knowledge. For the first time research, development, sales and other important business areas of Infineon AG have been united on one site.

Many of the employees work in teams and are situated all over the world. They communicate via electronic data links and are often only partly present at Campeon.

Six modules consisting of 1-3 storey buildings offer space for up to 7,000 people. Workers from research, development, business areas and administration have a modern environment with an ideal work and communication framework. With the integrated canteen, cafes, restaurant, shopping mall and fitness centre, Campeon has c. 150,000m² of floor space. This is further increased with underground spaces and basement garages. Due to the need for changing teams and a flexible arrangement of furniture, it was decided to install luminaires with Eldacon technology.

The light from about 6,700 Futurel 5MS floorstanding uplights and 1,800 Quadrature suspended luminaires is directed via microprismatic structures onto the task areas without glare. A Futurel 5MS floorstanding uplight stands next to every office workstation and can be arranged freely within the room with a constantly high level of lighting quality. The Quadrature luminaire modules with their angular aluminium profile and the Futurel 5MS uplights complement each other perfectly to create a highly efficient illumination that promotes a culture of innovation, i.e. it accomodates the individual needs of people for light.

All conference zones within the central areas are equipped with the ultra-flat Quadrature luminaire modules with a sophisticated design in suspended form. A completely flexible spacial lighting arrangement is possible, independent of the setup of workspaces.

In the data processing centres, Siteco MD Louvre Luminaires with a decorative design and CAT 2 specular louvres create a pleasant ambience with high levels of luminance. Transluscent, illuminated end caps provide an interesting lit effect. The CAT 2 specular louvre with direct / indirect beam distribution (30% indirect) supplements the illumination of areas peripheral to the workspaces.

Siteco XS Louvre Luminaires with diffuser optics have been used for the sanitary areas. As with all installed luminaires, the Siteco XS Louvre Luminaires are characterised by a slimline housing. The end caps were delivered in a pre-installed state. Support brackets ensured a trouble-free fixing.

About 5,000 Monsun damp-proof luminaires were installed in the basement garages and the subterranean technical rooms. Illumination of the application areas is achieved with c. 600 DUS Plus fixtures with CAT louvres. The trunking has been designed as a modular system for use with energy-efficient T16 fluorescent lamps.

Conclusion: the Siteco lighting solution combines a mobile culture of working with a maximum of comfort, a maximum of flexibility and active energy-saving.
