Siteco Mirrortec Technology For Swimming

Asker, a municipality west of Oslo, is situated on the banks of a fjord, an area with an emphasis on nature. Health and sport are important aspects of life for the 50,000-strong populace. The new Risenga Swimming Centre there has recently been opened. The construction from the offices of the Oslo architects’ team BFS Arkitekter AS encompasses a variety of pools including a training pool, a diving pool, a pool for children and a therapy and relaxation area. The swimming centre is illuminated with the aid of Siteco lighting instruments.

The central focus of the lighting solution is the secondary reflector technology within the swimming hall, host to high-ranking swimming events. The implemented lighting guarantees a horizontal luminous intensity of 600 lux, thereby satisfying norwegian and international regulations. The maintenance-free system is situated to the side of the water surface. The lighting concept has been designed to prevent reflections upon the water surface that may heed the view below the water.

The system consists of 12 Sistar mirrors and 48 Sistar 1000W-HIT projectors in the main area and 12 Fresnel-mirrors type Mirrortec 100 and 24 Werfer 150 for the therapy pool area.

Within the tribune and spectator areas, Siteco damp-proof luiminaires were installed. These surface-mounted luminaires are the correct solution for difficult deployment areas with high humidity levels. The prismatic technology guarantees a high-grade, uniform illumination.

In the entrance area in front of the building, the classical cylindrical construction form has been integrated unobtrusively within the architectural surroundings.  Further components of the Risenga Swimming Centre lighting concept: Europlex wall luminaires within the changing areas, Siteco Comfolight for computer screen workstations within the administration area, Siteco Comfit luminaires in classical design with minimised dimensions as well as Siteco Compact downlights in the corridors. The stairway areas are illuminated with open distribution Siteco batten luminaires. Siteco Sicompact A1 floodlights with asymmetric beam distribution have been installed in the subterranean control rooms below the swimming pools.
