Transparent and open, welcoming and communicative, with a confidence characterised by consise forms and strong statements – that was how Siteco has been presenting itself at light+building 2008, the trade fair that took place from 6th –11th April in Frankfurt.  Creative lighting instruments for indoor and outdoor applications such as the new CL building vicinity luminaires and lighting instruments with LED technology were displayed to the public for the first time.

Visitors to Siteco City experienced the premiere of lighting instruments that are destined to commence a new chapter for lighting technology. Creative lighting design for outdoor applications has been a core theme. “With the CL family, consisting of spotlights, wall and ceiling surface-mounted luminaires, and a linear system and bollard luminaires, Siteco presented a new generation of building vicinity luminaires at the Light & Building” said Klaus-Peter Siemssen, Director of Sales and Marketing. The CL family creates a flowing, harmonious transition between the inside and outside of architecture and supplies light for seeing, looking at and looking upon.

In addition, lighting instruments featuring LED technology were focussed upon. "With the DL 10, Siteco impressively shows how outdoor lighting will appear in the future," said Klaus-Peter Siemssen. The first Siteco road luminaire incorporating LED technology represents a completely new luminaire generation, combining state-of-the-art lighting technology with visionary LED technology, within a correspondingly innovative and functional design. With the DL 10, lighting according to standards for roads and squares with a pleasant white light colour can be implemented just as much as effective, coloured accent lighting, for the first time with one luminaire.

With Siteco Orbiter 2, Siteco presented the first ever suspended luminaire for office environments with a combination of high-performance LEDs and Eldacon microprismatic technology. The LEDs incorporated in the Siteco Orbiter 2 allow individual control of light colour and light characteristics and convince with a very high brilliance. And last but not least, Siteco Control offers optimal solutions for the omnipresent questions concerning energy efficiency and greenhouse effects with streetlighting.

For several years Siteco City has been the meeting place for discussing the medium of light. “This year as well we have created a large, open space as a communication platform for light and architecture,” said Klaus-Peter Siemssen. A large piazza as a meeting place for people that are concerned with the multi-facetted theme of light, its emotional effects and creative possibilities formed the core of Siteco City. That light is an essential design element was clearly demonstrated. With this trade fair concept Siteco demonstrated the versatile applications and effects of light and underlined its competence in the handling of lighting atmospheres and architecture.
