High Speed and A (Glare-) Free View. Construction of the most modern racing circuit in the world, situated 25 minutes from Dubai city centre, was completed in October 2004: The Dubai Autodrome & Business Park, a conglomerate consisting of racing circuit, go-cart track and event-centre for business people form all over the world. The prestigious project necessitated the highest possible quality requirements for the royal family, as was the case with the Burj Al Arab or with the artificial palm islands off the Dubai coastline - hence the decision to implement lighting solutions from Siteco for the main tribune and go-cart circuit.
The principle challenge in the tribune area was to create a very high level of vertical lighting in order to elliminate possible glare for drivers. In return, spactators in the ranks should enjoy optimal light distribution for ideal viewing conditions of the events taking place. That is the reason why Sicompact A2 Maxi floodlights with 2000W lamping were selected in the front area of the roofing at its most vertical point. The anodised aluminium reflector with asymmetrical wide beam light distribution avoids effects due to glare. In the rear area of the roofing, CB 90 recessed luminaires were installed because of limited available luminaire depth. In this case the luminaires were deployed as recessed ceiling (roof) luminaires, also equipped with anodised aluminium reflectors and asymmetrical light beam distribution.
High-grade, glare free lighting has not just been installed for the professionals. Sicompact A2 Midi floodlights in double pack with 2000W lamping and asymmetrical beam distribution via anodised aluminium reflectors also assure the layman an unforgettable racing experience during night-time hours.
