Energy efficiency as a guiding theme: the Süddeutsche Verlag new building complex in Munich

The new construction for the Süddeutsche Verlag enables building operation with maximum energy efficiency; this was significantly aided by the Siteco lighting concept.

Access to the publishing building is via a generously dimensioned atrium. The more than 20 metre-high foyer connects the low building to the tower block.

A major demand of the construction authorities was for flexible technology. A further focus spanning all factors was energy efficiency.
2126 x 1535
ELDACON® light control technology was implemented for the Süddeutsche Verlag, guiding light without glare and with high uniformity onto working planes, independent of the arrangement of these.

In all rooms immediately behind the facade, Siteco ELDACON® custom luminaires have been integrated framelessly in the acoustic panels suspended below the ceilings.

Quadrature recessed luminaires also feature the efficiency and absence of glare characteristic of ELDACON® technology, installed as an alternative in locations without acoustic panels.

The gallery and plateaus are illuminated by a sequence of light channels with diffuse enclosures and low voltage halogen spots.
