Airport Terminal 2, Munich, Germany

Energy-efficient lighting symphony for Munich's gateway to the world

Sophisticated architecture requires special solutions. As a landmark from the air and from the ground, Munich Airport is one of the great figureheads of the Bavarian capital: its architecture embodies cosmopolitanism and innovative strength. Innovative solutions are required to achieve the ambitious goal of operating the airport in a climate-neutral manner from 2030 on. Our lighting solution for Terminal 2 based on SITECO Floodlight FL 20 makes a significant contribution to this goal: 70 % less energy is required and thus saving enormous amounts of CO2. As with the new building in 2003, SITECO was the first choice because its reliability and lighting quality spoke for themselves. In addition to the aim of significantly saving energy, the lighting solution convinces with its unique lighting effect and integrates harmoniously into the architectural ensemble. The special feature: the lighting concept developed by Ulrike Brandi is continued, and the terminal ceiling shines in the white and blue of the Bavarian sky thanks to the combination of the two light colours used, Deep Blue and Neutral White in Floodlight FL 20.
