Square rope lights for Landau
The Lower Town of Landau an der Isar received a new look and improved quality in the interaction between pedestrians, motorists, and cyclists in 2019/2020. Over a distance of 500 meters, all traffic participants can now use the space equally. Paved areas have been broken up by large-format concrete slabs. The new lights from Bergmeister Leuchten correspond with the slab formats.
Thirty large, square fixtures are suspended from ropes over streets and squares. Designed by the Munich planning office bauchplan ).(, the lights are finished with a golden, iridescent metal alloy. With a side length of over one meter, the Landau Q1100 light model is unusually large and required complex static calculations for its rope suspension. Nevertheless, the light radiates a sense of lightness through its side-emitting glow via an opal cover and the shimmering metal surface.
